Do I need an emergency electrician?
Our emergency helpline has you covered. We’ll ask for a few details regarding the nature of the issue, then advise accordingly on what steps need to be taken. Our aim is to try and avoid the emergency callout completely, as there are many ways to make your system safe by yourself. If this is possible, the correct procedure will be explained, and a permanent solution will be offered on a standard callout rate.
Is crackling normal inside my consumer unit?
A crackling sound coming from within a consumer unit should be isolated immediately. You can do this by turning off the main switch, located to the far right, or far left of the unit itself. Crackling within a consumer unit normally means a loose connection inside, which can result in overheating and a potential fire hazard. If you’re unsure, always isolate the consumer unit anyway, and give us a call. We’ll try and diagnose the issue over the phone, completely free of charge.
Do you sub-contract the work out to other electricians?
All of our work is carried out by ourselves. We hold a high reputation, and the thought of allowing another tradesman to damage that terrifies us. Our customers are our number one priority, and we’ll take every measure to ensure you receive only the highest customer service. By carrying out our own work, we can ensure that happens.
How long will the work take?
With our extensive knowledge, most issues can be identified upon arrival, or at least within 15 minutes of investigation. If the issue is expected to take a while to remedy, we’ll only do what’s required to get your essentials back up and running. Once this has been done, we’ll offer to book in a separate visit to complete the work, but on a standard rate.
Are emergency callouts expensive?
Emergency callouts are priced higher than your standard callout, mainly due to the urgency required. We put measures in place to stop the callout spiralling out of control, and aim to only be within the property for up to an hour. If the issue take that little bit longer, but can be fixed within a reasonable time, we’ll always offer you the option regardless.
What if I need to cancel my callout?
We don’t believe in cancellation fees. Why should you pay someone for literally nothing? You’ll only be charged the given price once work has commenced. We understand in some cases, emergency callout’s can be booked out of panic, which is why we try and make the process that little bit less stressful.
